TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

The Department of Training and Development at LUMS Emergency Medical Services carries out the pivotal functions of training successive batches of students to graduate them as Medical First-Responders, assisting active MFRs in the maintenance of relevant skills, and organizing workshops conducted by external professionals that the general student body may also avail itself of. The Training Program, which spans the entire academic year, imparts rigorous instruction in emergency response to trauma, medical, and psychological emergencies and oversees the application of acquired skills, in probationary capacity, to actual cases on campus. External training includes Emergency Psychological Interventions and Basic Life Support (BLS-AED). In addition to this, the Training Department provides support to and works in conjunction with other departments to successfully execute EMS projects and events, including panel discussions, awareness weeks, general and mental health camps, and emergency management training programs for institutions within Lahore and beyond.
